It all started in Cardiff as favourites England took on Wales at a packed Millennium stadium. It promised to be a great game to kick off the 2011 Six Nations.
England got off to a brilliant start as Chris Ashton crossed the line for a try. It was one of two tries for the wing flyer!
And while Wales made it tough with a try of their own from Morgan Stoddart, some cool kicking from Toby Flood helped England to the perfect start with a win.
If you want to win the Six nations, it's important you win the first game. Ireland would have been expecting that, being against one of the weaker teams - Italy.
But they almost didn't manage it. The boys in green needed a late drop-goal from Ronan O'Gara for victory.
France are also tipped to do well in the six-week tournament. They beat Scotland in their first game 34 -21.
