Borrowers empty library shelves in protest at closure

Kids help take out all the books at Stony Stratford Library in Milton Keynes in a bid to save it from closing

Why book lovers emptied this library's shelves

If you enjoy borrowing books from your local library, you can imagine how annoying it would be if the council decided they wanted to close it down!

That's exactly what has happened at Stony Stratford library in Milton Keynes. So to show their anger, the locals have borrowed ALL 16,000 books.

They hope by emptying the shelves, the council will realise how important the library is to the local community.

Now it seems the council are rethinking whether or not to shut it down.
