Four missing pigs which went on the run in Southampton after escaping from a field have been safely captured.

The Vietnamese pot-bellied porkers were rounded up by police - with help from the RSPCA. It's thought they could have been on the run for several weeks.

Experts reckon the pigs escaped from a field by squeezing through the fence.

They've been named Nigella, Delia, Davina and Holly after TV presenters. The pigs have now been re-homed at an animal sanctuary in Sussex.

Jo Barr, from the RSPCA, said: "They were kept in a field and the fencing was not completely secure and they have done what pigs like to do.

"Pigs are highly intelligent and sociable animals and they have gone out exploring in the woods."
