Messi wins top football prize

Lionel Messi

Argentina and Barcelona forward Lionel Messi has won the Fifa Player of the year award for a second straight season.

The 23-year-old scored 60 goals for his club and country last year.

He was awarded the Fifa Ballon d'Or at a ceremony in Zurich and said the award was 'very special'.

Jose Mourinho was voted men's coach of the year - after leading Inter Milan to win three trophies including the European Champions League!

This year the Fifa Player of the Year and Ballon d'Or were merged into a new prize, the Fifa Ballon d'Or. Last year Messi won the two separate awards.
