Weight lifter Zoe Smith has Olympic funding suspended

Young Sports Personality of the Year runner-up Zoe Smith has had her Olympic weight lifting funding suspended.

The British Weight Lifting governing body has decided to stop the money because Zoe "lacked commitment" at a training camp she went to.

"Zoe is an amazing talent but any athlete still has to work hard to realise their true potential," said Performance Manager Fiona Lothian.

Zoe's agent said she is "shocked and surprised" at the decision.

Her personal funding will be withdrawn until at least the end of January, but she'll still get help with food and medical advice.
