The big freeze hits the UK

Winter weather has swept across the UK, bringing the heaviest November snowfall since 1993.

A massive 15cm of snow covered northern Scotland and north-east England on Wednesday night.

Temperatures dropped to -5C and several schools and roads have had to close in Scotland because of the winter weather.

Weather forecasters say the cold snap will spread across the UK later in the week. Northern and eastern Scotland and England will be worst affected.
