Big animals hurt by climate change

Polar bear

Big animals like tigers and polar bears will find it harder to cope with environmental change because of their huge appetites.

These large predators have to work really hard to find their next meal, so they suffer more from being hunted and from change to their habitat.

Experts studied predator populations compared to the populations of their dinner (smaller animals, or prey).

They reckon the lions, tigers and bears find it harder when food is scarce.
