Sniffer dog Tucker has got a smelly job - he sniffs out whale poo to help scientists find out why numbers of the mammals are dropping in America.

He heads out to sea with his team and tracks down poo floating on the surface of the water with his nose power!

And here's what Tucker's been searching for - whale poo! It might sound disgusting, but the poo helps scientists to investigate the health of whales in the area.

Once Tucker's sniffed the poo out, it's collected by the team and taken back to the labs. It can tell them why numbers of the mammals might be dropping.

They've collected a lot of poo! The scientists are studying different species including right whales and killer whales.

It's whales like these that scientists in north America are concerned about, but with the help of their canine friends they hope to learn more.
