A woman who dumped a cat in a wheeled bin has been found guilty of causing cruelty to an animal and fined £250.
Mary Bale admitted in court to causing the animal, called Lola, unnecessary suffering.
Lola, who was missing for 15 hours, was discovered when her owner checked CCTV footage of outside his house and spotted Bale dropping her in the bin.
Bale was also banned from keeping animals for five years and told to pay court costs of £1,171.
She was prosecuted by the RSPCA animal charity.
The CCTV footage showed Bale stroking Lola before picking her up by the scruff of her neck and dropping her into a wheeled bin.
Bale has said she's sorry for putting the cat in the bin but has not been able to explain why she did it.
Lola the cat has fully recovered from her ordeal.
