Take That considered name change

Take That

Take That have revealed they thought about changing their band name to The English when Robbie Williams returned to the group.

In an interview with music magazine Q, they explain they were thinking about releasing just one single under the new name.

Although the idea was dropped Robbie says it allowed the group to come up with a different sound for their new album called Progress.

Gary Barlow said returning to the original line-up with Robbie made going back into the studio interesting.

The new Take That album is out in November - the same week as X Factor finalists JLS release their second album Outta This World.

Fans have been told to expect a more electro-pop sound from the five-piece.

Robbie Williams left the band in 1995 to launch a solo career but reunited with remaining members of Take That last year and started working on new songs.
