Hayley finds out more about Liverpool's new owners

It looks likely that Liverpool football club will be sold to the American company that owns the Boston Red Sox baseball team.

New England Sports Ventures are said to be offering £300 million for the club.

Before the deal goes through, legal issues with the current US owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett have to be sorted out.

Some fans have been unhappy with the current owners as the club has big debts at the moment.

They also promised a new stadium, which never happened.

Trouble

Liverpool have troubles on and off the pitch - the club made the worst start to a league campaign since 1953-54, when they were relegated.

The Reds are currently in 18th place in the Premier League.
