Chelsea and Arsenal celebrated wins in their second group matches in the Champions League. The Blues won 2-0 against Marseille while the Gunners beat Partizan Belgrade 3-1.
John Terry got things going for Chelsea by poking in an early opener from Gael Kakuta's corner.
Over at the FK Partizan Stadium in Serbia, Andrey Arshavin fired one in to put Arsenal ahead in the 15th minute.
After Premier League defeats by Newcastle and Man City, boss Carlo Ancelotti demanded a "good result". Nicolas Anelka doubled the Blues' lead with a penalty in the first half.
Brazilian striker Cleo levelled things for Partizan Belgrade against Arsenal, taking the score to 1-1 at half-time.
But two second half goals - one from Marouane Chamakh and this header from Sebastien Squillaci - handed the Gunners a 3-1 victory. Two wins out of two put Arsenal top of Group H.
Chelsea held onto their 2-0 lead in a nervy second half, with some close calls from Marseille. Two victories make the Blues leader of Group F.
