Hundreds offer to help dog 'dumped' on CCTV

Man leaves dog behind on CCTV

Hundreds of people have offered to rehome a dog which was seen being 'dumped' by an man on CCTV.

The CCTV shows Ginger the dog being taken for a walk by a man, who then drives away leaving the dog behind.

Ginger was rescued by the local council, who are trying to re-home her and find out why the man abandoned her.

Weymouth and Portland Borough Council said they have had hundreds of offers from people across the UK who want to give Ginger a new home.

Ian Lewis, council dog warden, said: "We have had hundreds of calls.

The council say Ginger is healthy and doing well

"But we must make sure she goes to the right family and not just because they felt sorry for her.

"We won't rush into making a decision. She has settled into the kennels very well after being dumped and has a great personality."

The council said Ginger is healthy, but couldn't walk properly when she was abandoned because her claws were overgrown. She's now been treated by a vet and is walking properly again.
