Dog sets new world record for longest tongue

Check our Puggy and some other animal record breakers!

A dog with a tongue almost as long as its body has slobbered its way into the record books.

Puggy the Pekingese licked the competition to set a new world record as the dog with the longest tongue - it's nearly 11.5cm long!

It's a change of fortune for Puggy, who was abandoned by his old owners because of his unusual looks.

Current owner Becky Stanford said lots of people are in total disbelief when they meet Puggy for the first time.

"It means a great deal to us that he has accomplished what he has," she said.

"From being a stray dog, being dumped, to being a Guinness World Record holder is just phenomenal. I just can't believe it."

Puggy isn't the only new animal record holder. Others include the world's smallest cow, which is smaller than the average sheep; the world's oldest gorilla, who's 53; and the Jack Russell dog who can pop 100 balloons in the fastest time - 44.9 seconds!
