Three British teams were in action in the first night of this season's Champions League.
Wayne Rooney was back in the Manchester United team as they took on Scottish champions Rangers at Old Trafford.
United had the best chances to score, but Rangers defended well and the game finished 0-0.
There was bad news for United when Antonio Valencia seriously injured his ankle. The midfielder had to get stretchered off in the second half.
Tottenham also drew against German side Werder Bremen. Spurs went 2-0 up after an own-goal and a great header from Peter Crouch.
But the German side got two goals back to level the match. Even so, Spurs manager Harry Redknapp said he was "delighted" with his team's overall performance.
