Lewis Hamilton loses F1 lead after Italy crash

Lewis Hamilton is led by Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa

Lewis Hamilton crashed out of the Italian Grand Prix and lost his lead in the Formula 1 table.

On the first lap of the race, Lewis tried to overtake Felipe Massa and clipped his wheel on Massa's car.

Fernando Alonso ended up winning the race, with British champ Jenson Button coming second and Massa finishing in third place.

The result means that Lewis has fallen to second in the overall table. Australian Mark Webber goes top.

After the race Lewis said: "I've got to try to collect my thoughts and move onto the next race. It's mistakes like I made today that lose world championships."

It looks set to be one of the most exciting championships in F1 history. With five races to go, five drivers are in a good position to win.
