England beat Switzerland 3-1 in their second Euro 2012 qualifier, at St Jakob-Park in Swiss city Basel. Wayne Rooney played as expected, despite claims over his private life.
Scotland played a nail-biter at Hampden Park against the tiny country of Liechtenstein, but came through to win 2-1 at the last minute.
It only took 10 minutes for Rooney to show that manager Fabio Capello was right to pick him to face the Swiss - the forward scored England's first goal of the game.
But the delight was dampened a few minutes later when Theo Walcott was taken off on a stretcher due to an ankle injury.
The goalless Swiss side went one man down after 64 minutes when Stephan Lichtsteiner was sent off for a foul against James Milner.
Back in Hampden Park, Liechtenstein captain Mario Frick stunned Scotland fans by scoring the first goal of the game to put his country - ranked 141st in the world - ahead.
Adam Johnson replaced injured Theo Walcott. He showed his worth by scoring England's second goal. The Man City winger also scored in England's Friday qualifier win against Bulgaria.
Switzerland's Xherdan Shaqiri (right) pulled one back for his country a couple of minutes later.
Scotland's Kenny Miller made things equal for the Scots with a goal in the 63rd minute.
Darren Bent subbed for an injured Jermain Defoe and scored his first ever goal for England. The 3-1 victory means Capello's men have the maximum six points after two wins.
A 90th minute goal from Stephen McManus saved Scotland from an embarrassing draw against Liechtenstein.
The home win means Craig Levein's guys have four out of a possible six points from their first two games, following their 0-0 draw on Friday against Lithuania.
