In pics: Racing on old Penny Farthing bicycles

Check out these Penny Farthing racers taking part in the Knutsford Great Race in Cheshire, north-west England.

These big bikes might look comical but they were a common way to get around about a hundred years ago!

These days it's just for dedicated bike fans! Racers have to cycle around a 1km track as many times as they can in three hours.

It's the only Penny Farthing event like this in the UK and fans, young and old, of the crazy looking bike come from all over the world to take part.

But you'll have to wait until 2020 for the next race as it only happens once every ten years!
