X Factor to stop using auto-tune

X Factor bosses have decided to stop using auto-tune technology to tweak contestants' voices.

Lots of fans were really angry, after some performances on Saturday's show were altered using computers.

It meant the voices you heard on your TV might have sounded different to what the judges heard at the audition.

X Factor bosses said: "There will be no auto-tune in the audition shows or for competitive performances on live shows."

Show bosses said autotune was only used to remove background noise - not to make contestants sound different.

A spokeswoman said: "We do not use, and never have used, audio technology that would unfairly reflect any singer's original performance on The X Factor."
