What's your playground like?

Old playground

How good is your playground?

What's your local playground like? Does it have fantastic swings and slides - or is it manky and in need of a makeover?

The Government was meant to spend thousands of pounds on new and revamped play areas but those plans have been put on hold while it tries to save cash.

So does that make you angry? Is your local playground unsafe? Or are you lucky enough to have a shiny new playground with state-of-the-art equipment?

Does the state of your park playground matter to you? If you were in charge of building a new playground - what would it look like?

"We have three playgrounds, the best of all is the newest one for prep and grade one. My playground is still brilliant though. In Australia, most playgrounds are pretty good, but I'm sure some out there are really bad - like in some of these comments."

Ailish, 9, Victoria, Australia

"It's not a problem at my school but the playground across the road from my house is horrible! Teenagers go there most nights and when I go there in the morning, litter is everywhere even though there is a bin there! The climbing frame is broken, there are tiny baby toys that are broken and the swings are rubbish. Dogs go there a lot for walks and there is glass so it is quite dangerous."

Holly, 11, Cheshire, England

"My mum has tried to speak to the person in charge and they didn't want to know! In our park, the swings move when we swing and the baby swings are in bad order, falling apart!"

Luke, 6, Reading, England

"My local park is huge and great fun to play in. I love going there with my family and friends."

Emily, 13, Devon, England

"The playground at my school is very boring and hasn't got much stuff!"

Rizwana, 11, London, England

"My school playground is really big and we all love it."

Jasmine, 10, London, England

"I don't even have a playground at my school!"

Sadie, 11, East Sussex, England

"My school hasn't got a playground but if my mates and I go to a park we get moaned at by adults. When I was younger we didn't have cool things like basket swings and swinging sea saws!"

Daisy, 13, Reading, England

"The playground just outside my school is pretty bad. The swings keep getting flipped over the top of the frame, so they are impossible to swing on!"

Sally, 11, Swindon, England

"The playground at my old school was so boring. The smaller kids had a nice playground with stuff to do, but the larger playground was just concrete."

Vicky, 12, Stafford, England

"My playground is awful because there is always graffiti everywhere and the slide is broken."

Imogen, 9, Essex, England

"My playground at school is great. We have swings, slides, a roundabout, seesaw, monkey bars and a trim trail. I love to play with my friends in it during the school holidays because I feel happy and safe there!"

Rihanna, 8, London, England

"My one at my school in France is just a simple, large square of tarmac. And the one that was at my old school in the UK was alright. We had games printed onto the tarmac."

Bethy, 13, Brittany, France
