Colin the rabbit is recovering after his ears were burnt off in an attack while his owners were on holiday.

It seems that something or someone broke into Colin's hutch and deliberately set fire to his ears.

Owner Ella, eight, was very upset. She said Colin's changed since the attack: "Because all that stuff's happened he's kind of forgot about us all."

No-one is sure what exactly happened but the police and RSCPA are trying to find out.

The vet who treated Colin said the pet is very lucky to be alive, as the shock would have killed many rabbits.

Colin's family can't believe what he's been through.

But they're just happy he's getting better now.

Ella said: "I just hope that they don't do it again to another rabbit."
