England midfielder Joe Cole has joined Liverpool after leaving Chelsea on a free transfer.
The 28-year-old left Stamford Bridge in June after he couldn't agree a new contract with the Premier League champions.
His decision to join the reds means the midfielder will not be playing Champions League football next season.
Arsenal and Tottenham were at one point rumoured to be interested in signing the star.
Cole joined Chelsea from West Ham for £6.6m in 2003 and scored 40 goals in 282 appearances, winning three Premier League titles and two FA Cups.
But he wasn't offered a new deal when his contract ended at Stamford Bridge this summer.
Cole's arrival at Anfield follows winger Yossi Benayoun's move in the opposite direction, moving from Liverpool to Chelsea.
