Becks wants to be in the Olympics

David Beckham

David Beckham wants to play football for Britain in the London 2012 Olympics.

The footy star said: "If I'm still playing and I'm still considered to make a difference to the team, I'd love to be involved."

And it's not just the Olympics that he wants to play in. He said he'd like to end his career at the World Cup 2014, scoring England's winning goal!

Becks didn't get to play in the last World Cup because he was injured.

But he did go out to South Africa to advise the England team.

He reckons their poor performance on the pitch was down to the players, not manager Fabio Capello.

Seeing Becks on the sidelines at the World Cup made lots of football pundits think he'd go for a manager job when he retires from playing.

But Beckham said: "I must admit it's something I've never been interested in... it's not a passion of mine to be a manager of a football team."
