Advice for children of addicted parents

Emma Spiegler

Cannot play media. Sorry, this media is not available in your territory.

Emma Spiegler grew up with an alcoholic mum, so she understands how lonely life with an alcoholic parent can be.

She wanted to share her experiences to help others feel less alone in what, for some, can be a living nightmare, so she set up a website called Children of Addicted Parents and People (COAP).

The website gives young people affected by other people's addiction a place to go for advice and support.

If you're affected by someone's addiction to alcohol, Emma says the most important thing is to talk about it with someone you trust and remember you are not alone.
