Injured cat gets 'bionic paws'

Oscar

Meet the cat with bionic paws

Meet Oscar the cat - the first moggy in the world to be fitted with bionic paws!

Poor Oscar lost both of his back paws when he was run over by a combine harvester while he was sleeping in a field in October.

His owners, from Surrey, were devastated and decided to let surgeons try the ground-breaking surgery.

It works by putting special 'pegs' into his legs that the fake feet can then be attached to.

'Run and jump'

It's a really complicated operation but Oscar is now recovered and can pretty much use his paws like any other cat.

The surgeon, Noel Fitzpatrick, said: "Oscar can now run and jump about as cats should do."
