Michael Jackson makes over 670m since death

Michael Jackson (March 2009)

It's nearly a year since Michael Jackson died, but he hasn't stopped making money - it's thought he's made more than £670million since he died

American music magazine Billboard worked out how much cash Jackson has made from things like CDs, DVDs and MJ merchandise.

They reckon over £500million came from album sales and the film This Is It.

Michael Jackson's This Is It tour also brought in money, even though it never actually went ahead.

Some fans kept their tickets as souvenirs and a lot of tour merchandise was sold.

Other things that raised cash include DVD sales and rentals, downloads and ringtones.

Record deal

In March, nine months after he died, Michael Jackson got a record deal to re-release some of his biggest hits.

Sony Music plans to bring out 10 albums over the next seven years, including one of previously unreleased material.

Michael Jackson died on 25 June last year, at the age of 50.
