Springwatch sofa being sold off

Springwatch presenters on sofa

A star of BBC's Springwatch programme is being sold off to raise money for charity - no, not a presenter, but the famous sofa!

The shabby piece of furniture has been a big part of the show for the past six years.

But on Thursday it will make its final appearance when this series finishes.

Viewers have until 22 June to bid for the item. All the money will go to the BBC Wildlife Fund, which works to save endangered animals.

Many presenters over the years have complained about the sofa, saying it's moth-eaten, uncomfortable and too small!

But others say that the three-seater fits in with the down-to-earth feel of the show.

Presenters Kate Humble, Chris Packham and Martin Hughes-Games will also be hosting a live two-hour event from London Zoo on Sunday to raise more cash for charity.
