Hamilton on pole in Montreal

Lewis Hamilton celebrates after baggiong pole position at teh Canadian Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton is on pole position for the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal for the third year running.

That's despite getting in trouble - and fined around £5,000 for not returning his car to pits quickly enough, after his final qualifying lap.

The McLaren driver is ahead of Red Bull drivers Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel on the grid.

Hamilton's team-mate and World Champion Jenson Button starts from fifth. The race gets underway at 5pm.

Lewis Hamilton snatched pole from Mark Webber in the very final lap of the day - putting an end to Red Bull's domination over the previous seven races.

"Its fantastic for the team. It's the result of continued hard work from the guys" said Hamilton.
