Madonna and daughter design clothes

Watch Leah's report

Pop star Madonna is teaming up with her 13-year-old daughter Lourdes to create a fashion collection.

The new children's clothing line will be called Material Girl, after one of Madonna's early hit songs.

It will include affordable jeans, shoes, fingerless gloves, necklaces and other accessories.

And although Lourdes is working on this project with her mum, Madonna says she won't let it distract her from her schoolwork.

According to her mother, it's Lourdes, rather than Madonna, who's particularly keen to start designing clothes.

She's been spending some time with famous fashion designer and good friend of her mum's, Stella McCartney, who started giving her fabrics and sketchbooks.

Many of the pieces in the Material Girl collection are inspired by Madonna, her daughter's dance roots and, of course, their own wardrobes.

It'll be on sale in Macy's department store in America this autumn.
