Rooney injury worries footie fans

Wayne Rooney

England fans are anxiously awaiting news of Wayne Rooney's condition, after he fell over on his ankle in Manchester United's match against Bayern Munich.

The striker limped off the pitch after turning over on his right leg in the build-up to Bayern's winning goal.

Lots of people are now worried he won't be fit enough to play in the World Cup.

Man United manager Alex Ferguson said he didn't think Rooney's injury was "terribly serious", but full details of how bad it is are not yet known.

Manchester United lost 2-1 to Bayern Munich in their first-leg Champions League quarter final match at the Allianz Arena.

Rooney scored the first goal after just 66 seconds, but it was closely followed by one from Bayern's Frank Ribery.

The German side secured their win in the second minute of injury time with a goal from Ivica Olic.
