Escaped owl 'could eat pets'

A dangerous giant owl has escaped from its owner's garden and it could attack cats and dogs.

The owl escaped from the Wiltshire enclosure when its owner went inside. He ducked and then the bird flew out.

Police have warned people not to approach the one-metre-tall owl that has a two-metre wingspan.

It's a European eagle owl, and they said: "It is unlikely to attack humans, but it could try to carry off a cat or small dog."
