Fears for teeth in Scotland

Boy brushing his teeth

Scotland's dental record has been described as "depressing", because so many adults have lost ALL of their teeth.

More than a third of Scottish women and a quarter of men aged over 55 have lost every single one of their gnashers, the government there said.

Experts are worried that future generations of Scottish kids will have the same problems.

It's all being blamed on bad diets and not enough local dentists.

Experts say tooth decay is preventable by brushing your teeth regularly and having check-ups at the dentist.
