A heavy hailstorm has hit the Australian city of Melbourne, causing loads of damage and bringing traffic to a standstill.

Many motorists were stranded as roads started to turn into rivers.

As rain and hail continued to batter the city there were reports of chunks of ice the size of golf balls.

Emergency services are mopping up after the sudden storm, but forecasters are warning more bad weather is on the way.
