Sporting Lisbon ended Everton's hopes of making the last 16 of the Europa League, after beating them 3-0 in the Portuguese capital.

Disappointed Everton manager David Moyes said: "We did not play well enough on the night to get a result.

"(Sporting) looked as if they needed it and wanted it more."

Despite holding a 2-1 lead from the first leg against Sporting on 16 February, Everton go out of the competition 4-2 on aggregate.

But it's a different story for Liverpool and Fulham.

Liverpool beat Unirea Urziceni 3-1 in Romania thanks to goals from Javier Mascherano, Ryan Babel and Steven Gerrard.

They go through 4-1 on aggregate and will now face French club, Lille.

Elsewhere, Fulham drew 1-1 with UEFA Cup holders Shakhtar Donetsk and go through 3-2 on aggregate to face Italian side Juventus on 11 March.
