Sheep in cliff rescue drama

RSPCA officers have abseiled down a rock face to save a stranded sheep at Rhossili in south Wales.

Rescuers climbed down 20 metres in very cold conditions to reach the ewe and carry her back up to safety.

RSPCA Inspector Richard Abbott said: "We had to deal with a large, frightened and pregnant animal with virtually no room to manoeuvre.

"However teamwork won the day and the ewe was returned to a very happy farmer."
