Sweets thrown at Hindu festival

Holi festival

The Hindu festival of Holi is being celebrated and in a slightly different way than you might expect for a religious festival.

It's not often you get to throw things at people - but as part of this celebration it's actually encouraged.

Sweets and coloured paints are thrown over all those participating as part of a special blessing.

Holi happens every year, to welcome the arrival of spring and celebrate Hindu gods, including Lord Krishna. It's full of fun, dancing and lots of colour!
