Beckham faces old team United

David Beckham will tonight play his old team Manchester United, when AC Milan face the club in the last 16 of the Champions League.

The midfielder said he'd put emotion to one side and focus on beating his old team mates.

"It's going to be emotional but, as a United fan, it's the first time I am going to want them to lose," he said.

Beckham spent 12 years with United and he supported the team throughout his childhood.

When he left Old Trafford there were rumours that he wasn't getting on too well with manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

But when they met last season they shook hands, and Beckham said he sees Fergie as "a father figure".

Beckham is on loan to AC Milan from Los Angeles Galaxy.
