Rangers stay top after draw

Rangers' Kris Boyd celebrates

Rangers are just eight points ahead at the top of the Scottish Premier League table after a 1-1 draw against Motherwell at Fir Park.

Tom Hateley put The Well ahead with an impressive free kick after 28 minutes. But Kris Boyd equalised for the away side with just 10 minutes to go.

This win, plus Celtic's 2-0 victory over Hearts, allowed the rivals to cut the gap at the top of the table.

Glenn Loovens and Marc-Antoine Fortune scored for the Bhoys at Celtic Park.

After a goalless first-half, Loovens opened the scoring with a left-footed shot after 49 minutes.

And Fortune made it two just one minute later.
