Man City boosted by home win

Manchester City's Argentinian forward Carlos Tevez (R) vies with Bolton Wanderers' English midfielder Jack Wilshire

Manchester City scored a 2-0 win against Bolton to boost themselves to fifth place in the Premier League.

Carlos Tevez got the first from a penalty after Paul Robinson was taken down by Bolton's Adam Johnson.

Some thought Bolton should have had a spot-kick after Kolo Toure tangled with Johan Elmander, but it wasn't to be.

Instead, an Emmanuel Adebayor volley secured the win for City to move them up the table. Elsewhere, Fulham also won, beating Burnley 3-0

The goals came from Danny Murphy, David Elm and Bobby Zamora, but not everyone was happy as at least one of the goals appeared to come from an off-side pass.

Meanwhile, Wigan had to settle for a 1-1 draw with Stoke after Tuncay equalised for the visitors to maintain Stoke's unbeaten start to 2010.
