Daley misses out on diving gold

Tom Daley in action

Tom Daley just missed out on gold at a big British diving event in Sheffield.

The 15-year-old tried out a new 'twister' dive in the 10m final, but was beaten into second place by Peter Waterfield.

It was Tom's first competition since he was crowned world champion in Italy last summer.

Despite getting the silver, Tom wasn't too disappointed. He said: "Everyone has an off day but what pleased me was the new dive."

The event, called the British Gas National Cup, is the first national competition Tom hasn't won since 2006.

Next up he's got his sights on the Commonwealth Games in India in October.
