Terry dropped as England captain

Fabio Capello and John Terry

John Terry has been sacked as England captain.

He's had a lot of family trouble recently, and some fans are worried that his problems off the pitch will affect his performance on the pitch.

On Friday the Chelsea player met with England coach Fabio Capello at Wembley to discuss his future with the national team.

Following the announcement John Terry said in a statement that he promised to "give everything" to England.

Capello has given Rio Ferdinand the captaincy, who used to be the deputy, and Steven Gerrard will be the vice-captain.

Terry has got support from his manager at Chelsea, Carlo Ancelotti, who said it was business as usual ahead of Sunday's match against Arsenal.
