Space robot stuck on Mars

Nasa, the US space agency, has admitted it just can't get its space rover moving on the Red Planet!

A space rover is a robot that takes pictures of a planet to send back to Earth so scientists here can learn more about it.

This special wheeled machine is called Spirit and it got stuck in the mud and broke its wheels nearly a year ago.

Now it's stuck for good, it'll live out the rest of its days on Mars doing experiments where it is.

Spirit landed on the planet successfully back in 2004.

Nasa has spent more than £560 million on its Mars Exploration Rover programme.
