Ivory Coast out of the Africa Cup

Algeria"s Karim Matmour, left, is challenged by Ivory Coast"s Yaya Toure during their African Cup of Nations quarterfinal soccer match in Cabinda, Angola, Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010

Ivory Coast have crashed out of the Africa Cup of Nations after being beaten by Algeria.

Substitute Hameur Bouazza struck two minutes into extra time, taking Algeria to a 3-2 quarter-final win.

The result was a shock to many, as lots of people thought Ivory Coast, captained by Chelsea striker Didier Drogba, could win the competition.

Ivory Coast coach Vahid Halilhodzic was furious with his team's performance, describing it as "unacceptable".

Ivory Coast is bursting with top players like Kolo Toure, Emmanuel Eboue, and Didier Zokora and they've won their last 23 games.

The Algerian victory means fans could be dreaming of their first Nations Cup triumph since 1992.
