Snow traps village for three weeks
People in the remote Lancashire village of Cow Ark are celebrating after finally being freed from the snow that had trapped them for 21 days!
The only road connecting them to the outside world was covered in snow and ice before Christmas, and was cleared by a snow plough at the weekend.
While they were trapped, the only way out was by quad bike, or by walking to the nearest shop, five miles away.
Villagers are happy to be free, but cross they were trapped for so long.
After the road was finally cleared, resident Derek Cook told local paper The Lancashire Telegraph: "I am really pleased there has been a response but it is clear that there is more work to be done."
Some 15 families were trapped after the first snowfall in December.
