Schools reopen after snow

Thousands of you have had an extra long Christmas holiday because of the recent wintry weather, but for many it seems it's finally time to go back to school.

Hundreds of schools are set to re-open after last week's heavy snow as older pupils are due to sit important exams.

On Sunday, Schools Secretary Ed Balls said schools should do "everything they possibly can" to open.

Most of the UK is still in the icy grip of the big freeze, although it is starting to thaw out in some areas.

But weather forecasters say temperatures will still be freezing at night for the next few days and more snow's expected in parts of Scotland, Wales and the south east of England.
