How's the snow affecting you?

Children playing in the snow

The wintry weather and snow has swept even further across the UK, and most areas have now been affected.

Thousands of schools have been closed, giving lots of children an extra day off (or two!).

So what has the snow meant for you? Has it stopped you doing anything you wanted, or have you been having a fab time playing out in it?

Maybe you're at one of the schools that hasn't been closed and don't think it's fair that all those other ones are!

Unfortunately this topic is now closed but there are Comments pages on other subjects on the main Chat index.

Your Comments

"I really liked the snow because we got to stay off school and make snowmen."

Anya, 9, Newcastle, England

"I love the snow but I could not play out because it was too cold! I did not see my best friend, Chloe, either."

Lauren, 10, Newcastle, England

"I don't like the snow because I fell flat on my face! It is higher up than me now."

Elaine, 5, Forfar, Scotland

"The snow has been great fun and I have enjoyed it, but the roads and paths are getting icier and it is dangerous for everyone."

Rhiannon, 11, Chepstow, Wales

"The snow is so cool!! I love the fact that there has been no school for seven days!"

Moira, 11, Monmouthshire, Wales

"I've had so much fun in the snow! I have had snowball fights with my friends nearly every day!"

Cecilia, 10, Liverpool, England

"I think the snow was great. We built snowmen, we had snowball fights and got time off school, so that meant we could play in the snow and go sledging."

Chloe, 10, Newcastle, England

"It is starting to get annoying because it's cold, wet and I came in today and got soaking wet from slush! We should be off for longer. Somebody even chucked a snowball down my ear and it hurts and water comes out of it!!"

Daniella, 10, Wiltshire, England

"I have enjoyed the snow and being off school, but I am really getting bored of staying home all day now and I would like to go back to school."

Katie, 11, Cardiff, Wales

"The snow is turning to slush and the outside of our school is blocked by roadworks because the heating completely broke. It's really unfair because my sister doesn't have to go to school but I do. We had a massive snowball fight and went sledging, but I do hope the snow clears up soon."

Xavier, 9, Wigan, England

"I want it to stop snowing because it is really affecting me. Yesterday we were walking to school and all of us slipped at least twice. My school is just around the corner but it took us half an hour to get there!"

Grace, 10, Nottinghamshire, England

"I love the snow! You get to stay in bed and laze around and even make snow cones. At least you're bored at home than freezing cold at school! Being bored at school is worse than being at home, at least you don't have to go to lessons!"

Sophie, 11, Liverpool, England

"I like the snow and having snowball fights but it makes my feet a bit cold."

Kyle, 6, Essex, England

"The weather is still really bad here and I have slipped over twice!"

Georgie, 9, Glamorgan, Wales

"We should be off school for the amount of snow we have had over the last few days!"

Hayley, 10, Worcester, England

"I was meant to go back to school today but I can't even get down my drive. I really want to see my friends, but this is probably a one-off opportunity!!"

"It is great having snow but I miss my friends. I haven't seen them in ages."

Carys, 11, Swansea, Wales

"I hate going to school but I don't like it when I have to go out in the snow and get snowballed! Now it has turned to ice, I have been marked on the face with an ice ball!"

Edward, 13, Sunderland, England

"The snow has been fun but I want it all to go now because of all the ice. It is really slippery and it is hard to get to school. I had a week off which was fun as I got some lie-ins!"

Stephanie, 13, Wigan, England

"At present where I live it isn't snowing any longer, it has become very slippery and my school's been open since yesterday. I enjoyed the snow while it lasted. I made a snowman and had snowball fights with my sisters and friends."

Hasina, 13, Bolton, England

"I think that the snow is great and I want more of it to play in!"

Katie, 11, Glamorgan, Wales

"I was really happy when it snowed as every school was shut except mine. Everyone was sad and only 50 people turned up to school out of 200!! We played games all day."

Ffion, 10, Bridgend, Wales

"The snow is still very thick here. My school hasn't been closed, which is good because I am in Year 10 and so have started my GCSE's. I want to do well, however my brother's school closed last Wednesday, and he is only seven years old!"

Sophie, 14, Bedfordshire, England

"I like the snow but the ice is hazardous."

Chelsea, 9, Falkirk, Scotland

"It is amazing, I made a snow Jedward and it took me ages! It's still there. I wasn't off school as they made us go in!"

Natalie, 13, Edinburgh, Scotland

"We should have had more days off because of the amount of snow we had. A lot of us fell over because of the lack of salt, it was horrible!!!"

Sophie, 13, Warwickshire, England

"We liked it when our school was closed for one day but it was good to see our friends when we came back. It was so slippery outside that we had fewer playtimes and that wasn't a good thing. We felt really disappointed today when the predicted snow storm did not arrive, it's raining here instead."

Class 10, 8 and 9, Exeter, England

"My school has only been shut for one day."

Ross, 11, Huddersfield, England

Sabeen, 11, Oxford, England

"While school was closed, and the snow was so deep, we built a small hill and then used trays as sledges. It was good fun."

Breanna, 7, Manchester, England

"I love the snow but I did miss my teachers. Me and my dad built a polar bear, but later on the head got knocked off by a snowball!"

Louise, 11, Wigan, England

"It has snowed quite a bit but we are back at school now! I can't believe it is still here!"

"I went back to school after the Christmas holidays last Monday. The next day we had off, and last Wednesday we had over a foot of snow during one night! We were off for the remainder of the week and today the school was supposed to be open. As people were preparing to go to school, we heard that school had shut again, because of central heating failure! I'm getting bored of it."

"The snow is affecting me because it is really cold out there! Plus, when I went sledging we saw that the lake had frozen into ice!!"

"I don't mind the snow, because me and my friends can go sledging and have snowball fights!"

Jemima, 12, East Sussex, England

"The snow doesn't stop. Me and my friend built a snowman and called him Billy-Bob!"

Martha, 11, Woking, England

"It is not fair that some schools are still closed. Even though a lot of the schools are open, lots of them have asked us to bring clothes for the snowy weather! It is soooo not fair on children to be cooped up in school all day!!"

Heidi, 11, Buckinghamshire, England

"It was my first day back at school today and I wasn't allowed outside all day! The snowman in my back garden is melting and all the snow is turning to slush, so I can't play outside! School is really hard now and all I do is stare out the window all day."

Jaimee, 9, Wigan, England

"My school has not closed once yet, even though we have a lot of snow. This is so unfair because people can slip over and really hurt themselves. Also, this health and safety thing is not working because if the government and teachers are obsessed with health and safety, all schools should be closed!"

Chelsea, 14, London, England

"I love the snow but I don't think my mum and dad do!"

Megan, 9, Fort William, England

Jasmine, 10, Hertfordshire, England

"I can't get down to school because there is too much traffic and the roads are just pure ice!"

Ellie, 12, Newcastle, England

"I love the snow but my school is never closed!"

Mya, 11, Coventry, England

Aishah, 13, London, England

"I think it's better if schools shut because it saves grit. If kids have to go to school, the council will have to put grit on the roads so people can get to school safely."

Leah, 14, West Lothian, Scotland

"The snow is a bit annoying because we are supposed to be doing an assembly, but we haven't been able to do it!"

Elizabeth, 11, Bedfordshire, England

"I like the snow, but when school is closed I don't have anything to do. I sometimes get bored playing in the snow, so I think when school is open it will be much better!"

Also, people are throwing hard-packed snow at each other, which is more like a stone than snow, and it WILL make you bleed if it is hard enough!
