Susan Boyle's album is still top of the American chart

Susan Boyle

Susan Boyle is celebrating a second week at the top of the American album chart with her debut release.

The Scottish singer has sold 527,000 copies of her first album, I Dreamed a Dream, in the past seven days.

Music experts reckon she'll hang on to the top spot for another week. It could mean she ends up with the best-selling album of the year in America.

But Susan will have to outsell Taylor Swift to grab that honour - she's sold more than 2.5 million albums.

With around four weeks until the end of the year more than one million Susan Boyle albums have been bought in the US so far.

Top of UK charts

It's not just America where the album is doing well. She's also topped UK and Australian album charts.

In the UK, it's also sold more copies than any other album in 2009, beating JLS, Robbie Williams and Eminem.

Susan Boyle lost the final of Britain's Got Talent to dance group Diversity, but has gone on to become a global star since.
