A UK soldier has been killed in a gun fight in south-west Afghanistan, taking the number of UK troops to die there this year to 100.
The soldier from 1st Battalion The Royal Anglian Regiment died in fighting in Helmand Province on Monday.
Since British forces went into Afghanistan in October 2001, 237 of them have been killed. Some people are questioning why UK troops are there.
Military officials say the soldier's family have been told.
