Former Chelsea manager Avram Grant will be the new manager at Portsmouth after Paul Hart was sacked.
Grant was technical director at Fratton Park in 2007 before moving to Chelsea.
And after returning to Pompey as director of football in October 2009, he quickly became the favourite to take over the vacant manager's job.
Grant's first task will be to take on Manchester United on Saturday, with Portsmouth currently lying bottom of the Premier League.
In the 2007/2008 season, Grant took Chelsea to second place in the Premier League.
He also got them to the Champions League final, where the Blues lost on penalties to Manchester United.
Peter Storrie, who runs Portsmouth said: "The board believes he is the man to help steer the club out of the relegation zone."
Pompey have only got seven points from their last 13 games.
