England had moments during the match when it looked like they may be able to topple the mighty Australians.
But six tries in the final 27 minutes allowed Australia to maintain their dominance over England and cruise to a thrilling victory.
England rugby league coach, Tony Smith, has announced he is going to be standing down after the defeat.
Two early tries from the Australian side put them 14-10 ahead at half time.
After the break England rallied and briefly held a 16-14 lead but a relentless attack by the Australians in the closing minutes of the match saw them power to a win and the Four Nations title.
